Entry into the Course
To enrol in this qualification, you must be:
- At least 18 years of age
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident, or on an eligible visa
- Able to obtain a National Police Check
- Capable of completing a minimum of 120 hours of work placement in a registered care facility

You’ll also need access to a computer, internet connection, and basic digital literacy skills to successfully complete the course online.

You’ll study theory through our flexible online learning platform and apply your knowledge in a real-world setting during your practical placement.

Work Placement
Work Placement
Work placement is a vital part of your learning journey.
- Minimum 120 hours of practical placement is required
- Placement must be completed in an approved disability support setting
- Kirana Colleges can assist in arranging placement with one of our partner organisations
- Students must meet screening requirements (e.g., police check, vaccinations if required by the host facility)
- This hands-on experience prepares you for real working conditions and builds your confidence in providing support to people with disability.

This course is open only to Australian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals on an eligible visa with study and placement rights in Australia.
